ELLE Magazine – brought to you by Adobe Photoshop!

Jessica Simpson on the September 2008 cover of Elle Magazine.

Yesterday I posted about a Beyonce ad in Elle Magazine (see previous post) and now Elle is getting criticized for a heavily Shopped cover as well. Man, would I love to have the original of this gem for comparison! The curvy waist, hips and breasts that have made Jessica famous were cut down, making her body look … well, just plain weird. Jezebel has a complete rundown of the errors along with some great snarky commentary in an article titled Jessica Simpson’s Elle Cover: Waist Not, Want Not – a great read.

Hint to all newbie Shoppers out there: A subject’s hair should not be wider than her hips. Even if said subject is from Texas.

And looking at this again – what’s up with the back of her hair? Are those extensions gone awry or did they doa cut & paste job with the hair from the front?

I saw this in the market over the weekend and even though I only glanced at it as I was walking by, it just didn’t look right. I didn’t need to see it up close to know something was funky. It’s all out of proportion……or……something. It just looks wrong.
