Photography as a Weapon

An entry in the Iran: You Suck at Photoshop contest on Boing Boing. Image by What to do.

Documentary filmmaker Errol Morris has just written a real meaty essay for the New York Times titled: Photography as a Weapon. In it he discusses and debates his views on the recent Iran missle fake photo and other misleading historic images (what he dubs “fauxtography”) with the likes of digital forensics expert Hany Farid and Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs. It is a long essay, but it is extremely informative and well worth taking the time to read. [Photography as a Weapon by Errol Morris]
