Voted most likely to get a body transplant via Photoshop…

Over 500 students at McKinney High School in Dallas, Texas discovered their yearbook photos had been drastically altered. Photo: Sonya N. Hebert/Dallas Morning News

Whilst researching information about something else entirely I stumbled across an article in the Dallas Morning News from this past May and thought: How did I miss this?

It was about students from McKinney High School who received their yearbooks only to discover their photos had been altered. Not just a few students, either – 583 students! And not just some simple “zit reducing” touch-ups: “Some girls’ heads ended up on boys’ bodies, and vice versa. Some necks were stretched, and some outfits were altered. … One girl’s arm is missing. Another girl is missing her clothing – and was left with a blurred chest.”

And who was responsible for this cluster-fuckery of Photoshoppery? Lifetouch School Portraits. Their response to the charges of this photo manipulation: “It is not the Lifetouch standard practice to alter images for yearbook publications.”

However, Lifetouch agreed to pay the costs to reprint all of the Shopped McKinney High School yearbooks. [source]

Back in the day, when I was in HS, if your yearbook pic was ugly, it was ugly and that’s all there was to it. Why would they chop someone’s arm off? Someone at Lifetouch School Portraits has too much free time.

That’s just too damn funny…doesn’t surprise me though, I remember when I graduated in 1994 there was a kid in our class who was just covered in zits, had real oily hair and looked like he never showered…his yearbook photo, however, was like Dane Cook described in your other entry! Back then it was airbrushing and what they were limited to, but I guess they’ve decided to unleash the power of the ’shop!

Why would you paste heads on other bodies though…like they wouldn’t notice or be offended? And what if they got the bodies from other kids in the same school? Can you imagine?

“Dude, I think I got your hair!”

“Hey! That’s MY shirt! and MY cleavage!”
