French President Nicolas Sarkozy – from flab to fit! [via Neatorama]
Back in 2007, the French Magazine Paris Match airbrushed the spare tire off of French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s mid section. (I bet their Art Director voted for him.) The magazine was caught in their flabtacular lie when the original was printed elsewhere. The brass at the magazine tried to explain that they really hadn’t altered the image that much, and that “the correction was exaggerated during the printing process.”
So, last week Paris Match published a recent photo of Nicolas Sarkozy walking alongside Pope Benedict XVI and somehow Sarkozy has a 3rd leg (see photo at right). The error was created by airbrushing out the head and shoulders of Sarkozy’s bodyguard, but not his leg. This time the chief photo editor at PM, Guillaume Clavières, blames the photographer (not the presses) stating: “If we had known, we would not have published it.”
How about taking a closer look at the photos during the magazine’s editing process? That’s what photo editors are supposed to do.

Yeah, I hate it when photographers only photograph a portion of my body. It really irks me.
