OK, I am interrupting Shoptober to bring you some imagery for the new Britney Spears single, “Womanizer”. (Maybe it could qualify for Shoptober? I mean, there’s a snake and Britney is looking kinda scary.) The images have already been criticized over at blogs like Photoshop Disasters and Jezebel and called out in the Daily Mail for looking extremely airbrushed, and that Brit’s body looks fake. Well, the body is real – it just doesn’t belong to Spears – it belongs to Tyra Banks (from a 2007 photo shoot). It also turns out that this is not official promo artwork at all, but instead was fan created art that has somehow been confused for actual promotional imagery. It seems that the media did not catch onto the fact that this was fan created fake imagery and reported it as being legit.
All the press the fake imagery has received seems to have boosted interest and advance sales for the single though, which I guess is the reason why Spears’ record company, Sony BMG, isn’t complaining too loudly.

Above: Seriously? That image on the left is supposed to pass for Britney Spears? If this were a legitimate promo image, whoever created it should lose their job. As a fan created fake though, it was just in good fun. On the right: original image of Tyra Banks.

Seriously, why the hell does she even bother anymore? Even worse, are people really still buying her music?
She can’t sing.

And now she uses a supermodel’s body for her photo shoots??
If there is a bigger fraud on the planet right now, please show me.
What is that gashy-looking shadow on her throat?
We are doing our first photoshop project in class next week and it involves head-swapping two photos. Soon I will be able to make my own fake promotional imagery.
