A Brief History of Photo Fakery…

by Mick on August 24, 2009

The New York Times “Week in Review” magazine ran a slide show yesterday titled A Brief History of Photo Fakery. They put up quite a selection of fake imagery – both historic and current – some of which have been previously featured on this blog and some that have not. (Such as the above image of Ulysses S. Grant which was a composite of 3 different images.) There is also a corresponding article titled Look, and Then Look Again.

I find it mildly ironic that the NYT magazine ran a feature on photo fakery, but neglected to include the fake photos that ran in its own magazine.
