A couple months ago, one of my favorite blogs, Photoshop Disasters, posted an image from Victoria’s Secret website featuring a model holding purse straps in her right hand, but no purse was attached to the straps. (Side note: Since PSD’s posting the folks over at Victoria’s Secret must have slapped their foreheads and yelled out a loud Homer Simpson-esque “D’OH!” because they fixed the image.)

Missing purses aside, Dr. Neal Krawetz over at Hacker Factor thought the photo still looked suspect and going on the “no one fixes just one thing” principle, began to digitally dissect the photo. If that wasn’t enough to make me giggle with glee, after Victoria’s Secret fixed the invisible purse Dr. Krawetz digitally dissected the befores, afters, and all the dress colors.

Dr. Krawetz, will you marry me?

Cuz, you know, I hate to think a photo edited so shiteously was done using Photoshop. If so, this is a true Photoshop Disaster…

These images made the rounds of Twitter yesterday like wildfire, and has (deservedly so) caused Microsoft so much grief that they issued a public apology over it. The top generic stock-quality photo depicts a “racially diverse” meeting and was placed on the US Microsoft site, and in the bottom photo (which was shown on the Polish Microsoft site) a white guy’s head was haphazardly slapped in to cover up the face of the black guy in the center. (I guess this was because someone at Microsoft thinks Polish PC users prefer to look at people wincing though obvious neck pain?) The image has since been removed from Microsoft’s Polish site and replaced with the same photo as the US site.

Also, this just in – according to someone at Microsoft creative, PC users the world over prefer to look at monitors that don’t have to plug into anything.

Ever wonder why when you order something it doesn’t always look as good on you as it did in the catalog or on the website? Well, for one thing the people used to model the clothes don’t have average body types, but it is also sometimes due to the fact that the clothes themselves are Shopped.

J.Crew made the mistake of uploading the original image next to the Shopped image on a pair of pants in their online catalog. It shows that the pants were blatantly Shopped to make them appear to be not as bulky and lumpy.
